Content sources
Langa Library may include public domain works, licensed works, rights-cleared materials, metadata records, and community contributions.
Public domain status can differ by jurisdiction. A work that is public domain in one place may remain protected elsewhere. Langa Library therefore treats rights status as a matter for review and documentation rather than assumption alone.
Rights review
Langa Library does not intend to host infringing material. If a rights holder believes material should be removed, restricted, corrected, or reviewed, they may submit a takedown request.
Rights review may include examination of metadata, source records, publication dates, author dates, file provenance, public domain rules, licensing records, and prior collection notes.
Book covers
Many older works do not have usable public cover images, and many cover images found online are protected by copyright.
Langa Library should not rely on scraped commercial cover art as a default solution. Community cover submissions must be original, public domain, licensed, or otherwise rights-cleared.
Metadata and descriptions
Metadata is part of library access. Titles, authors, languages, tags, publication data, descriptions, and authority records may be corrected as better information becomes available.
Where metadata comes from external sources, Langa Library should respect applicable source terms, attribution requirements, and correction procedures.
Translations
Private translation assistance for reading is different from publishing a public translated edition.
A public translated edition requires rights review, quality review, attribution where required, and takedown handling.
